Maria De La Paz Galvan

Maria was born on December 9, 1964 in Odem, Texas to Herminio Galvan and Ascenciona Juarez Galvan. She was a warm, kind hearted person who loved her family and friends dearly. Maria never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She worked for Dr Francisco Acebo for 26 years and she was a nanny to his children, Sierra, Anthony, & Paige Acebo, whom she loved dearly and spoke of them often. She treated them as one of her own.

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Herminio Galvan and son, Michael Anthony Estrada.

Those left to cherish Maria’s memory are her mother, Ascenciona Juarez Vitela; her husband, Mike Estrada; her brothers, Herminio (Sandra) Galvan Jr. and Richard (Regina) Galvan; her beloved grandchildren, Hazel, Destiny, Lindsay, Michael Jr, Zarin, and Lexoni Estrada, numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Melissa Dominguez, Leo (MaryAnn) Garza, and in laws Joe and Kathy Estrada; a host of cousins and friends, and her beloved pet son, Bear.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Francisco Acebo for all his care and support towards Maria as her employer and especially during her final months when she could no longer work.

The family would like to thanks all friends and family for their support and prayers in this difficult time. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Services will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
