Maria S Godinez

Maria Sanchez Godinez entered the gates of heaven on September 3, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born on April 20, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Rosalio and Agrapina Sanchez. Her unwavering Faith in God and her strong belief in opportunity and education, have all come together as values that define her family. She lived a life of living sacrifice for her family. Maria is now reunited with family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents; daughters, Martina McArdle and Rafaela Godinez; siblings, Isidoro Sanchez, Jose Sanchez and Josefina Espinoza and (Lonnie Richardson). Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted Viejito of 68 years, Jesus Venegas Godinez; children, Crisoforo Godinez (Blanca), Pio Godinez (Darita), Juan Godinez (Santa Monica), Connie Reyes (David), Fernando Godinez (Susana), Maria Richardson, Jesus Godinez (Lisa) and (Mark McArdle); grandchildren, Eric, Angel, Cris, Gabriel, Javier, Veronica, Gloriana, Loriana, John Edward, Joaquin, Crystal, David Michael, Aaron, Marco Esteban, Desiree, Devin, Benjamin, Meghan, Iliana, Sierra and Liam; siblings, Francisca Cervantes and Albina Olmos. Gentlemen left with honors of Pallbearers: Crisoforo Godinez, Pio Godinez, Juan Godinez, Fernando Godinez, Jesus Godinez and Devin Richardson. The family will receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd., on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
