Maria Refugio Maldonado

Maria married the love of her life, Jose Antonio Maldonado, on April 11, 1975, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She worked in home health services, dedicating her time and compassion to caring for others.

Maria was a devoted member of her church and a woman of profound faith. Her passions were simple yet full of heart- cooking meals that brought people together, shopping, attending loved ones' events, and most of all, loving and caring for her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent watching her grandson play baseball, attending her granddaughter’s dance recitals, graduations, birthdays, every celebration, and spending time with her sisters whom were also her best friends.

Maria was humorous and full of life; always dancing, joking, and bringing laughter wherever she went. She was the heart of every gathering, offering prayer, strength, and calm to those around her. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, supported, and loved. Her strength, calm and rooted faith were often the anchor for those around her. Admired for her elegance, her hospitality, and her extraordinary talent in the kitchen, she was always the last one to sit at the table, ensuring everyone else was served first.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Ventura and Maria de Jesus Ventura, and her sisters, Juana Palacios and Consuelo Zuviri.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jose Antonio Maldonado; her children, Marco Maldonado, Maria Cisneros, and Sarai Guzman; seven sisters; one brother; six beloved grandchildren; and two great-grandbabies.

Maria will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, her incredible strength, her boundless love, and her ability to uplift others with both compassion and laughter. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited for a public visitation to be held at Funeraria Del Angel, located at 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, on November 6, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will follow at 7:00 pm that same evening.

The Funeral Service is scheduled for November 7, 2025, beginning at 12:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel with the Committal Service to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

María R. Maldonado, de 72 años, de Corpus Christi, Texas, falleció el 26 de octubre de 2025. Nació en Yurécuaro, Michoacán, México, el 26 de octubre de 1953.

María se casó con el amor de su vida, José Antonio Maldonado, el 11 de abril de 1975, en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México. Trabajó en el área de servicios de salud a domicilio, dedicando su tiempo y compasión al cuidado de los demás.

María fue una miembro devota de su iglesia y una mujer de profunda fe. Sus pasiones eran sencillas pero llenas de corazón: cocinar platillos que unían a las personas, ir de compras, asistir a los eventos de sus seres queridos y, sobre todo, amar y cuidar a sus nietos. Atesoraba cada momento viendo a su nieto jugar béisbol, asistiendo a las presentaciones de danza de su nieta, graduaciones, cumpleaños, toda celebración, y disfrutando el tiempo con sus hermanas, quienes también eran sus mejores amigas.

María era alegre y llena de vida; siempre bailando, bromeando y llevando risas a dondequiera que iba. Era el corazón de cada reunión, ofreciendo oración, fortaleza y calma a quienes la rodeaban. Tenía una manera especial de hacer que todos se sintieran vistos, apoyados y amados. Su fuerza, serenidad y fe profunda fueron a menudo el ancla para quienes la conocían. Admirada por su elegancia, hospitalidad y su extraordinario talento en la cocina, siempre era la última en sentarse a la mesa, asegurándose de que todos los demás fueran servidos primero.

Le precedieron en muerte sus padres, Antonio Ventura y María de Jesús Ventura, y sus hermanas, Juana Palacios y Consuelo Zuviri.

Le sobreviven su esposo, José Antonio Maldonado; sus hijos, Marco Maldonado, María Cisneros y Sarai Guzmán; siete hermanas; un hermano; seis queridos nietos; y dos bisnietos.

María será recordada por siempre por su fe inquebrantable, su increíble fortaleza, su amor infinito y su capacidad de elevar a los demás con compasión y alegría. Su legado vivirá en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.

Se invita a familiares y amigos a una visita pública que se llevará a cabo en Funeraria Del Angel, ubicada en 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, el 6 de noviembre de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 10:00 p.m.

Un Servicio de Oración se llevará a cabo esa misma noche a las 7:00 p.m.

El Servicio Fúnebre está programado para el 7 de noviembre de 2025, comenzando a las 12:00 p.m. en Funeraria Del Angel, seguido por el Servicio de Sepelio en Memory Gardens Cemetery.
