Beloved Nurse, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Dog Mom

Corpus Christi, Texas — Maria Dolores Pina, 63, passed away on September 29th 2025. She was born on March 8, 1962, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Mitchel and Rosa Pina.

Maria dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a nurse at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she was known for her compassion, professionalism, and gentle care. Her patients and colleagues will always remember her for her sass, empathy, and the comfort she brought to those in need.

Outside of her nursing career, Maria was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt whose laughter, generosity, and love filled every family gathering. She especially cherished time spent with her nieces and nephew, who adored their “Tia Weya.” She was also a proud and loving dog mom, finding joy and companionship in her loyal pets.

Maria is survived by her father, Mitchel Pina; brothers Gene Pina and Albert (Judy) Pina; nieces Shelby, Aolani (Eric), and Julea Pina; nephew Jake Pina; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Pina, and brother, Mitchel Pina Jr.

Maria will be remembered for her selfless heart, strong spirit, and the countless lives she touched through her love and care. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held on Friday October 17th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Services will conclude in the chapel.
