Maria Luisa Salazar

María Luisa Salazar entró en el descanso eterno el 31 de mayo de 2025. Nació el 20 de junio de 1942 en San Luis Potosí, México, hija de Anastacia Morales Colmenero y José López. Cuando era niña, la familia se mudó a Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Trabajó desde temprana edad para ayudar a su madre a mantener a sus hermanos. Conoció y se casó con Luis H. Salazar y se mudó a Corpus Christi, TX, donde vivieron y criaron a su familia.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, esposo e hijos Gustavo Salazar, Abel Salazar y Juan Salazar, y sus nueras, Anna María Salazar y Teresa Flores.

María era una hija dedicada. Fue una figura materna para sus hermanos, a menudo siendo la disciplinaria, pero los animó a tener éxito. Por encima de todo, fue una madre y abuela devota y desinteresada que siempre puso a sus hijos y a su nieto antes que a sí misma. Su ética de trabajo era irreprochable, pero se retiró debido a su salud. Le gustaba viajar a México para visitar a su familia y hacer sus rompecabezas de búsqueda de palabras, pero sobre todo disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su nieto. Tuvo una vida dura, pero su fe y fuerza nunca flaquearon.

Quedan para atesorar su memoria su hija, Marbelia Nau (Chris) y su hijo, Víctor Salazar; su hermana Yolanda López Morales (Raúl) y su hermano Pedro López Morales (María Elena); su nieto, Magnus Nau; su nuera, Jessie Morales, y numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos y familia extendida.

Maria Luisa Salazar entered eternal rest on May 31, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1942, to Anastacia Morales Colmeneero and Jose Lopez in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. As a young child the family moved to Matamoros, Tamaulipas. She worked from an early age to help her mother support her siblings. She met and married Luis H. Salazar and moved to Corpus Christi, TX, where they lived and raised their family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons Gustavo Salazar, Abel Salazar, and Juan Salazar, and daughters-in-law, Anna Maria Salazar and Teresa Flores.

Maria was a dedicated daughter. She was a maternal figure to her siblings, often being the disciplinarian, but encouraged them to become successful. Above all, she was a devoted and selfless mother and grandmother who always put her children and grandson before herself. Her work ethic was beyond reproach, but she retired due to her health. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit her family and doing her word find puzzles, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandson. She had a tough life, but her faith and strength never wavered.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Marbelia Nau (Chris) and son, Victor Salazar; her sister Yolanda Lopez Morales (Raul) and brother Pedro Lopez Morales (Maria Elena); her grandson, Magnus Nau; daughter-in-law, Jessie Morales, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers are Chris Nau, Lupe Salazar, Cruz Salazar, Eddie Guerra, Fabian Salazar, and Troy Saucedo.
