Mary De Los Angeles Benitez Sanchez

Mary De Los Angeles Benitez Sanchez was called home by her Lord on October 2, 2010, at the age of 75. She was born to Santiago Benitez and Manuela Rodriguez Benitez Martinez on October 1, 1935, in Harlingen, Texas.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Manuela Martinez; her beloved grandson, Joseph Daniel Ramos and brother, Gilberto Benitez.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 53 years, Hector E. Sanchez, her children, Diana Sanchez Ramos (Joe), Ida Sanchez Capps, Cindy Ann Sanchez Simmons (Roddy) and Hector Roland Sanchez. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Fredrick Ramos (Cindy), Michelle Perez (Aaron), Dakota Sanchez, Sierra Sanchez, Dominick Iorgov, Cheryl Capps, Ashley Simmons, Christian Simmons, and Braedon Simmons; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends.

Mary retired as a secretary for CCISD, Her hobbies included walks along the water with Hector, watching Hector, children and grandchildren play baseball. She enjoyed visiting with friends and enjoyed “SHOPPING” and eating at Wendy’s.

Mary loved her Lord and always began her day with a Bible Scripture. She loved her family with her whole heart and catered to her family in so many different ways. Her grandson, Dakota, said it plain and simple “Grandma did not know how to say NO”.

Everything she did, she did it with her whole heart. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held that same evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 808 Louisiana Parkway. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
