Mike was a Vietnam Veteran. Immediately following high school graduation, Mike joined the Navy and served the next 6 years where he received raving reviews and recommendations from his superiors as a perfectionist, a morale booster and always going above and beyond. His military travels landed him in Corpus Christi, TX where he spent the rest of his life.
Mike retired as a Multi Skilled Technician and Mechanic in February of 2021, after 30 years of work with CITGO Refinery. He had worked at the same plant as a contractor before that since 1978.
Affectionately known as Razz among his work family, he was revered by his peers and was known as the man who could get any job done. He was a leader and a teacher. He was relied on for his expertise in every aspect of his life. His dry sense of humor kept everyone on their toes. Razz was second to none in everything he did.
Mike was a devoted husband, Dad and Grandpa who did everything for his family. His smile was infectious and his laughter golden. He was an avid fisherman and he loved his family and friends beyond measure. Mike was the person who would do anything for anyone. He never thought twice about offering help when needed. Mike was a wonderful cook in the kitchen and on the grill. He loved a good vacation and adored hosting a fish fry for anyone who wanted to show up.
On Thursday, August 12, 2021, visitation with the family will begin at 1:00pm at Del Angel Funeral Home, 3442 Holly Road in Corpus Christi, TX. Services will begin at 2:00pm. The family has requested that masks be worn while indoors during services and in lieu of flowers,
a donation be made in Mike's memory to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The world has lost one of the best that ever lived and Mike will be greatly missed by so many.
