My uncle was more like a big brother than an uncle to me as I was growing up. He always treated me special and in turn he was very special to me. He taught me how to fish, shoot a rifle and hunt. He showed me all the little tricks on how to catch fish, but no one was better than he was. I have many fond memories of times spent together. Like the time we slept for hours on a concrete picnic table in a roadside park after several days of hunting, or of our many fishing trips. My uncle didn't own a boat, but he had an outboard motor. On one particular trip, my Tio Natie and Tio Joe rented a boat, and as they were trying to mount the motor onto the boat they dropped in the water. Needles to say we didn't go fishing as the motor wouldn't start after they finally got it out of the water.I remember all the fun times at family gatherings and bbqs at my grandmas house. But my favorite memory comes from a time when I was about 5 or 6. I remember him lifting me on his shoulders and walking around the neighborhood streets looking for my lost do "Tip", which we found. I take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his mom and dad and all our family members that have passed before him. I know that someday we will hunt and fish together again. Until then Tio "rest in peace". I love you and will miss you.
