

Born on January 19, 1984, in Harlingen, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Joel Amaro Alcala and Norma Leticia Amaro Aguilera.
Norma graduated from Bishop High School in 2002, and later earned an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Del Mar College in 2009. Her professional journey led her to a rewarding career as an Insurance Specialist with Farmers Insurance.
A proud member of St. Anthony's Church in Robstown, Norma cherished her faith and community.
She had a love for life that shone through her passions: traveling to new places, reading, enjoying films, and relaxing by the water at the beach. She delighted in spending time with her friends and family, often savoring her favorite drinks, like a margarita or a Dos Equis dressed, on the days she could unwind.
Norma is reunited with her beloved father, Joel Amaro Alcala; paternal grandparents, Joel Amaro Vasquez, Manuela Amaro Alcala, and her maternal grandfather, Jesus Aguilera Moreno.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by her parents, Norma Leticia Amaro Aguilera; her daughter, Gabriella Alexis Contreras; her sister, Karina Amaro (Rick Garcia); her brothers, Joel Amaro Jr., Arnold Amaro, Guadalupe Briseno de Aguilera (Jesus Aguilera Moreno); her maternal grandmother, along with numerous nephews, nieces, tios, tias, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Norma's medical team at MD Anderson, as well as the unwavering support from family and friends during this time.
A public visitation will be held in honor of Norma on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home followed by a committal and interment at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
