He was born on May 19, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to Waldo Albin Olson and Elizabeth Conway Olson.
Dr. Ole Olson graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Olson. Dr. Ole Olson was a highly-respected anesthesiologist for several hospitals for about 35 years, and he was Chief of Anesthesia for many of those years. Ole had so many talents and interests that it would be difficult to list them all. He loved to cook for his family, friends, and everyone, and his prowess in the kitchen was delectable and notable. He enjoyed photography, fishing, shrimping, hunting, singing, playing the guitar, and cycling. He grew extensive gardens and
raised gorgeous roses.
He is survived by his children and his grandchildren listed from oldest to youngest and grouped
by families: John Olson (Kristin), Isabella and Adrianna; Julianne Olson Wood (aka Pinki),
Logan and Hunter; Kristie Myers (Jack) and Connor; Lisa Rodriguez (Juan), Matthew, and
Olivia.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Olson, and he is preceded in death by his brothers
Russel Olson (Betty), and Herbert Olson. He also adored his nephews and nieces: Judi Bowland,
Beth Ann Quimby, Scott Olson, Liz Rose, Russel Olson, and Chris Olson, as well as many
great-nephews and great-nieces and his many friends.
Ole Olson was a loving, brilliant, and generous man. He treated everyone he knew, worked with,
and met as if they were family. He will be intensely missed by all those who knew and loved
him. He added humor, music, and amusement to the world, so the world will be lacking a lot
more in so many ways.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity of your choice in his honor.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude in the chapel.
