Olivia Vasquez Barrera

Olivia Vasquez Barrera passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 78. She was born on September 26, 1943 to Luciano and Olivia Vasquez in New Gulf, Texas.

Olivia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and is now resting in peace. She was a humble servant of God and instilled the values of serving, caring and unconditional love for others. This beautiful legacy of love that she instilled in the hearts of many will live on for generations to come.

Olivia is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Barrera Jr., her parents, Luciano and Olivia Vasquez; sister: Mary Vasquez; brothers: Elio Vasquez, Eduardo Vasquez, Mario Vasquez and Manuel Vasquez.

She is survived by her sons: Antonio Barrera III (Debbie), Ruben Barrera, Robert Barrera (Annie) and Steve Barrera (Monica); sister: Lupe Esparza; brother: Hector Vasquez and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Sinai Evangelistic Center at 3001 Norton St., on Friday, March 25, 2022.
