Olivia was born on February 17th, 1940 in Mexico City to Manuela and Guillermo Uribe. Olivia spent her youth in Mexico City and graduated as an Architect from UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico).
She married Edgar Estuardo Farrera, her college sweetheart, and together they raised 2 sons.
Together with her husband, Olivia immigrated to the United States in 1966. Olivia lived in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, before settling in Corpus Christi since 1983.
Always active in her professional life, Olivia was a television newscaster at channel KORO, a transportation planner at the Regional Transit Authority, and a construction contract administrator at the City of Corpus Christi, where she retired after 24 years of service. Olivia was also actively engaged in the cultural community. She served as a board member of the Municipal Arts Commission, and was a member of the 1992 Quincentenary Commission, the Columbus Fleet Association, and the Instituto de Cultura Hispanica.
She had a passion for dance, especially Mexican and Spanish folklórico, which she practiced for many years. She was a talented painter and architectural designer.
She is survived by her husband Edgar Estuardo Farrera and two sons Estuardo and Edgar; grandchildren Antoni, Stefan, Andres, Marcos, Bastian, and Dominique; great granddaughter Raelynn; brother Dr. Guillermo Uribe, and his wife Carmen; niece Monica Mccaffrey, and her husband Chris; nieces Cecilia and Angelica Uribe Calzada; sister-in-law Yuri Nava and brother-in-law Ociel Nava; lifelong friends Carolina A. Lajud and Estela M. Vega and many more relatives and friends.
All of these she loved and touched deeply.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the church.
