Philip Gonzalez

Philip Gonzalez graduated from Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas where he was part of the 4A State Championship team in 1960. Philip attended the University of North Texas on a football scholarship and was later inducted into the CC Miller Buccaneers Athletics Hall of Fame. Philip Gonzalez had a distinguished career in Education, as well as a revered Football Coach. He worked for Texas School districts in Progreso, Harlingen, Corpus Chisti, San Benito, Port Isabel, and Mercedes.

Philip Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Benita Gonzalez; and brother, Victor H. Gonzalez.

Left to Cherish his memory are his sons, Philip C. (Carol) Gonzales, and Lawrence A. (Elizabeth) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Logan (Paige) Gonzales, Alexandria (Dustin) Turman, Cynthia (Joseph) Latronico, and Lawrence Jr. Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Emelia Gonzales, Everleigh Turman, Elias Turman; brother, Thomas V. (Melinda) Gonzalez; sisters, Vicki V.Gonzalez, Manuela Gonzalez, and Juanita G. Segura.

Philip was a loving son, father, and grandfather and enjoyed hunting trips with his friends and sons in his younger years.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Philip Gonzales, Lawrence Gonzalez, Logan Gonzales, Lawrence Jr Gonzalez, Thomas Gonzalez, Ruben Gonzalez , Dustin Turman, and Joseph Latronico.

Please join his family and friends in honoring Philip's life. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4 pm until 8 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10 am with an interment to follow at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 (361) 265-9221
