Dick Hedges was so full of righteous joy that it couldn’t be contained.  He made the world a more joyful place, and made me a more joyful person.  I will miss you Brother Hedges.

The Corpus Christi, Texas Stake provided a choir for a session of the Dallas, Texas Temple dedication. Bro. Hedges recorded our rehearsals. He was always smiling and happy and was a great help to the choir. 
Years later he spoke in my ward about the Boy Scouts and his enthusiasm shone through. He will be missed.

Richard has been a giant of a man with a heart of gold.  From being a wonderful friend to scouting, to local church leadership and to my family. He simply always filled my heart with joy. He was always eager to help. I can’t forget him skillfully guiding my eldest son to soar like an Eagle and  making himself available  for his final interview to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.  He did this on a week day at 10:30PM just 24 hours  before his 18th birthday. He was just as helpful for our other eagles as well. There are so many ways he has made an amazing difference for our whole family. 
 Thank you Richard for enriching our lives. Love you dude.

Rick and Cindy, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss.  Rick, I didn’t know your father but he must have been one great guy to have raised such a loving, caring and strong son. Absence of the body means presence with the Lord. He’s dancing on streets of gold and I’m sure he wouldn’t trade places with any of us if he could.

We met Brother Hedges when we served a senior mission in the Texas McAllen Mission September, 2012 to September, 2013.  We lived in Corpus and worked with the Young Adults in the area.  We have enjoyed being friends with him on Facebook.  We were so sorry to learn he had died.  We send our love and prayers to his wife and family.
