

Roman Vincent Martinez, 52, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by love, on January 3, 2026. Roman was born on August 22, 1973, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Thomas Martinez Jr. and Cruz Cantu.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cruz Cantu; stepfather, Tomas Cantu; brothers, Freddie and Tommy Cantu; sister, Norma Villafranco; stepmother, Julia Martinez; and father-in-law, Oscar Balderas Sr.
Roman is survived by his father, Thomas Martinez Jr.; the love of his life, Tracy Martinez; his sons, Daniel Martinez, Matthew Martinez, and Damian Martinez; his stepsons, Alex (Kaylee) Balderas and Damien Luna; his daughter, Brianna Reed; and his beloved granddaughter, Mckenzie Balderas, whom he affectionately called his “little biscuit.” He is also survived by his sisters, Leticia Martinez, Sandra (James) Diaz, Iris (Chris) Martinez and his mother-in-law, Excie Balderas; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and of course, his faithful companion, Jefe.
Roman attended Foy H. Moody High School, where he spent his time living life to the fullest alongside his Bluebelle brothers, Andy, Mark, David, and Luis.
Roman will be remembered for his unwavering strength, larger-than-life personality, and his rare ability to walk into any room and captivate everyone around him. He never met a stranger, only a new friend. He loved to cook, loved to dance, and loved sports, especially his Dallas Cowboys.

Roman will be dearly missed and forever fondly remembered.
