Sally Ann Salinas, 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away surrounded by love and family. She was born on July 18, 1962, in Corpus Christi, where she lived a vibrant life full of heart, humor, and unforgettable memories.
Sally graduated from Miller High School and went on to earn her certification as a Nurse’s Aide from Del Mar College. She dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a CNA at Trinity Towers, TriSun, Alameda Oaks, and Doctors Regional, where she made lasting connections and was known for her compassion and strength.
On February 14, 1977, she married the love of her life, Ricardo Salinas Sr. Their love story was filled with laughter, music, dancing, and unwavering devotion. No matter what life threw at them, they always found their way back to each other. Their love was unique, unbreakable, and beautiful to witness.
Sally had a larger-than-life personality and passions to match. She was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan who lived for game day, especially when they beat the Cowboys. Her favorite quarterbacks were Jeff Garcia and Michael Vick. She loved dressing up, always with matching shoes and handbags, and was the queen of family gatherings. She could name any song, movie, actor, or TV show after just a few notes or seconds, and she was always right.
Her favorite show was Dallas, and Gone With the Wind held a special place in her heart. But horror movies? That was her specialty. She loved cruising the waterfront with Ricardo and dancing the night away at local nightclubs.
Sally lived for family and left a legacy of love, laughter, and bold honesty. She was famous for her fideo con carne, homemade tortillas, and beans, especially loved by her kids. She helped pick out wedding dresses, offered advice (solicited or not), and always told the truth, especially when it came to her three kids, because she knew they could do better and wanted the best for them. She opened her home to family whenever they needed it and even raised her niece from birth with open arms and a full heart.
Her favorite actor was Vin Diesel, but her ultimate heartthrob was Nick Casseretts. She adored David Cassidy, and her all-time favorite song was “Rock the Boat.”
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ricardo Salinas Sr.; her granddaughter, Hayley Janelle Ramirez; her parents, Guadalupe and Pablo Gutierrez Sr.; and her grandparents, Margarita and Juan Espejo Gutierrez.
She is survived by her loving children:
Priscilla (Toby) Ramirez, Ricardo (Carol) Salinas Jr., Patricia (Rudy) Siller, and Marisol Gutierrez.
She also leaves behind a proud legacy in her grandchildren:
John M. Contreras, Amara (Jose) Ramirez, Hayley J. Ramirez (Everly May), Ricardo Salinas III, Elaina Salinas, Marcus Salinas, Cristian (Victoria) Estrada, Azalea and Rowan Estrada, Mercedez (Brandon) Trevino, Ryli Trevino Carabajal, Paris Nicole Trevino, Kayla Ferrigino, S. Elizabeth and Emerson Rudy Ferrigino, and Josiah Ferrigino.
The family extends special thanks to her children—Priscilla, Ricardo Jr., Patricia, and Marisol—for their love, care, and support.
Sally Ann Salinas will be remembered for her fierce love, her bold spirit, her unmatched memory for music and movies, and her ability to make any house a home. Her laugh, advice, cooking, and presence will be missed beyond words—but her love will live on in the lives she touched.
