

He was born in Raymondville,Texas to Juan Gonzalez and Guadalupe Cantu.
He retired after 24 years from Texas Highway Department in the maintenance department.
He also did yard work for several families and worked as an auto mechanic.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sofia R. Gonzalez, his brother, Juan Gonzalez and sister, Victoriana Valdez.
Santos is survived by his sisters, Cruz Lopez of Weslaco, Texas and Felicitas Rodriguez of San Perlita, Texas. He is also survived by his eight children, Santos Gonzalez, Jr. (Irma) of Katy, Texas, Mary Ester Garcia (Richard) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dora Gonzalez (George) of Floresville, Texas, Aida G. Ruiz (Cristoval) of Aransas Pass,Texas, Lydia Yanes (George), Norma Herrera (Jesus), Sam Gonzalez (Diana) and George Gonzalez (Fiance Nina) all of Corpus Christi, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Rene Pineda, Daniel Samuelson; grandson, Javier Ruiz and sons, Santos Gonzalez, Jr., Sam Gonzalez and George Gonzalez.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Daniel Muro and the staff at Spohn Hospital and also Blue Ski Hospice, Inc.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. the same evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
