Silvestre Aguirre Rios

Our beloved Papi, Silvestre A. Rios, went to be with our heavenly Father on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the age of 76. Son of Desiderio Rios and Idolina Aguirre, born September 8, 1940 in Mercedes,Texas. Papi was an avid Cowboys fan, enjoyed listening to his favorite music “corridos” and being around family and friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He worked for Fairbairn Electric for thirty plus years as a foreman. Papi had a heart of gold and knew no strangers.

His love for his family was enormous! He was also known as Mí Padrino to numerous godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, San Juanita P. Rios; three daughters, Sylvia, Iliana (Hector), Lilly (Luis); grandchildren (his pride and joy), Adrian Christopher, Flor Silvestre, Luis Adan, Brianna Marie, Erika Marie, Serena Viannay; brothers, Erasmo (Olga), Desiderio Jr. (Zulema), Manuel (Rachel), Heradio (Anna), Jorge (Lupita); sisters, Alicia (Ernesto), Kinney (Edward), Anita (Juvenal), Idolina (Simon), Zoila, Janie, Maxie (Joel); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories. Papi will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
