Wilma Jean White

Jean was born to Wilford and Beatrice Allman in Corpus Christi, TX on February 5, 1929. Years later, she would meet the love of her life, Carlos “Buddy” White and together they would raise six children. Jean and Buddy were both saved and later baptized by the late Lester Roloff. Having her faith grow stronger in the last years, Jean was peaceful in her journey to meet the Lord.

After many years of being a homemaker and her children were older, Jean, at the age of 50, decided to enter into the workforce. Over the next twenty five years, she worked for Doctor's Regional Medical Center as a pbx operator/supervisor. She enjoyed her job and made many new friends. Having an appreciation for the arts, Jean loved to sing, dance and play instruments. She was most content when surrounded by family and laughing with her kids. She held many gatherings at her home where she would play the guitar and harmonica while singing old songs that made us all cry. She loved to sing and dance and pose for the camera.

Jean was a natural when it came to cooking a nice home cooked meal for her family and friends. Everyone loved her famous goulash and every year on Thanksgiving she was in charge of making the giblet gravy amongst other things. Grandmama, as they called her, loved all her grandchildren dearly and more recently, enjoyed watching the great grandchildren run around playing.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Wilford and Beatrice Allman, siblings David (Sonny) Allman, Letha Currie, Joyce Hodgson and Zelda Clary, grandson, David Kenneth White, III (Bugsy), and granddaughter Cassie Wright and sons Kenneth Eakins and Terry White.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Burkham, Sharon (David) Green, Rhonda (Brent) Thorn, David White and her grandchildren Tammy (Matt) Dunn, Katie (Michael) Cooper, Savannah Gutierrez, Buddy (Luisa) White, Ashley (Caly) Perez, Cathy White, Kevin (Elizabeth) Moody and Kyle Moody.

Services celebrating her life will be held on: Visitation on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, officiated by Pastor Dana Moore, followed by Graveside Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX.

In conclusion, the family would like to invite everyone to Second Baptist Church 6701 S. Staples Corpus Christi, Texas for a meal and fellowship.
