She was born on August 6, 1948 in Hebbronville, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Yolanda worked several years at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Track and Nueces County Community Action Agency Early Headstart Program. She graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1968. She met and married the love of her life that same year and remained partners in life for 52 years until her death. Yolanda was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved spending time with her loved ones especially her grandchildren who she adored with all her heart. She enjoyed traveling, gambling, watching movies, and of course, she was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. For all those who knew her, they will remember her by her contagious smiles, always having her sunglasses and never leaving the house without being made up.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her father: Jose Angel Vallejo Sr.; mother: Benigna G. Vallejo; sister: Rosalinda Cooper and brother: Jose Luis Vallejo.
Survivors include her husband: Santiago Moreno Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; children: Santiago (Jimmy) Moreno III; David (Derya) Moreno; Monica (Ben) Hinojosa; Jessica (Orlando) DeLeon; grandchildren: Marc, Jordan, Ryan, Maddox, Madden, MerCedes, and Benzel; brothers: Jose Angel Vallejo Jr; Arturo Vallejo; Juan Alberto Vallejo; Richard Vallejo; sisters: Jannie Martin – Thomas; Mary Ann Vallejo & Rachel Perales. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 12:30 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Corpus Christi, Texas. A Holy Rosary will be recited the same day, 1:30 PM; Funeral Service, 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
