April Holmes

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 28, 1967. April graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1985. On February 23, 1998, she married Mike Holmes who survives. April worked for the Dresden pool and the Dresden IGA while in High School and then worked as a weaver at Longaberger for over 25 years.

April loved vacationing in the Dominican Republic with her husband, Mike and their niece and nephew, Jamie and Scott. She loved her fur babies, Jackson and Libby. She enjoyed hanging out poolside at her home, talking with friends and family on the phone; taking rides at night with her best friend, Beth Miller, to make sure nothing was going on in town. Playing cards, especially Euchre and Uno Attack and tailgating at home watching college football, especially her favorite team, The Ohio State Buckeyes.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Mike Holmes, her mother, Shalah James; sister, Brooke (Jamie) Sands; brother, Todd (Stacy) James; step-son, Joseph (Tori) Holmes; nieces Baylee James, Sophie Sands, Regan James and Jamie (Scott) Shryock; nephews, Blake Sands, Simon James, Eliot James and Chad Zimmer; grandson, Carter Holmes and one granddaughter on the way, Marynn Jo who is due in January; sister-in-law, Vernanne (Gary) Grace; several cousins including her loving cousin, Lisa Hanson; and special friend, Beth Miller.

April is preceded in death by her father, Bob James, maternal grandparents, Kermit and Mary Stuller, paternal grandparents, Robert and Dolly James, father-in-law, Bill Holmes; mother-in-law, Betty Jo Holmes, and close aunt, Bobbi Callahan.

Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Dresden American Legion, 1384 Main St., Dresden, Ohio. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
