Catherine Lynn McFarland

Catherine L. McFarland, age 76, of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1949, in Phoenix, Arizona, to the late Francis B. and Margaret C. (Quill) McFarland of Coshocton.

Cathy graduated from Coshocton High School in 1967 and then moved to Columbus to begin her career with Ohio Bell as an Operator and continued for 30 years in telecommunications before retiring. She then became certified to teach arthritis pool therapy classes and spent many years teaching at the therapy pool at Coshocton Regional Medical Center.

In her most recent years, Cathy enjoyed making gnomes with her good friend, Sandy. She was a loving, compassionate, and loyal friend who took great care of others and will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. Cathy was a die-hard Bengals fan and enjoyed spending time with her cat, Brutus.

She is survived by her three siblings, Teresa Lingo, Greg (Sherry Kirkpatrick) McFarland and Chris (Kent) Glover all of Coshocton; nieces and nephews, Scott McFarland of Coshocton, Jason (Virginia) Glover of West Palm Beach, FL, Jordan (Abby Staddon) Glover of Australia, Tyler Van Dusen of New Philadelphia and Stacy (Bradley) Mowry of Aldi, VA; and great-nephews Lachlan Van Dusen-Todd, Oliver and Jack Mowry, and several other great-nieces and nephews. Cathy always treasured her time with her niece and nephews and all the adventures they had together; she is also survived by her life-long friends, Jenny and Margaret.

Along with her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by sister-in-law, Debra McFarland and brother-in-law, George B. Lingo.

Cathy was a very well read, passionate and staunch Democrat and everyone that knew her, knew where she stood on her thoughts on the current Administration (FT).

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
