Dick was born in Coshocton on June 26, 1935 to the late Arthur D’Ostroph and Bessie Carr. After graduating from Coshocton High School, Dick became a military man. He spent 30 years between the United States Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserve. While he was in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Dick held a position in Automatic Combustion Control and also the position of Career Counselor until he was honorably discharged. Dick spent his post-military career as a craftsman of manufacturing and construction. On January 4, 1956, Dick married his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Sandra (Kleinknecht) D’Ostroph. Dick was a member of the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church and was not only a hard worker, but also a very family-oriented man.
Along with his wife, Dick is survived by his four children: Richard (Andrea) D’Ostroph, Tamera D’Ostroph, Rochelle Cunningham, and Bradley D’Ostroph; six grandchildren: Angelique, Chanté, Jessica, Jeremy, Natasha, and Gabrielle; six great-grandchildren: Belle, Allie, Abigail, Samuel, Eliana, and Avielle; three siblings: Jack, Alice, and Caroline; and many other extended family members.
Calling hours for Dick will be held at Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the church on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wesley George officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
