

Jean graduated from Conesville High School in 1952, and then went on to join the United States Marines on August 1960. She honorably served for 2 years, and became a member of VFW Post 516 Auxilary, Amvets #1985, Coshocton Eagles Lodge, American Legion Post #11, and a member of the Lancaster, Ohio veteran burial detail. She was a charter member of Women’s Memorial in Washington DC, and was on the governor’s task force for women in the military. Jean was a member of Tyndall United Methodist Church, and enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and reading.
Jean is survived by her sister Vera (Delbert) Hardesty, and niece Paula Duling, and friend Dixie Berry.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Nancy (Paul) Wilson and Mona Mounts, brothers Dean (Norma) Moore, Roland Moore, and David Moore, and niece Nancy Jean Woods.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am officiated by Sheldon Mencer. Burial will follow the funeral service at Franklin Cemetery with military honors being performed.
