
Margaret Eileen Hoffman, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. She was born in Piedmont, Ohio on March 11, 1923, to the late Ralph and Gertrude (Barclay) Simpson. She was a member of Orange United Methodist Church; a member of WSCS, and a member of the Freeport Lakeland High School Hall of Fame. Eileen enjoyed gardening and sewing; she was an avid sports enthusiast, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Eileen was married for 52 years to Robert Wayne Hoffman who preceded her in death on January 19, 2005. She is survived by her two children, Larry (Ginny) Hoffman of Coshocton and Margaret (Raymond) Smart of West Lafayette; four grandchildren, Scott (Alonna) Hoffman, Lesa Hoffman, Arron (Kelly) Smart and Andrew Smart; two great-grandchildren, Kendall Hoffman and Grace Smart; and four step-great-grandchildren, Keelly Mack, Lane Beatty, Evan Beatty, and Katherina Beatty. Along with her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Roberta Ann Hoffman; and two brothers, Dave and Floyd Simpson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Pastor John Wesley Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Bakersville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10-11:00 am at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made in Eileen’s name to Orange United Methodist Church, 23519 SR 751, Newcomerstown, Ohio 43832 and or to Hospice-Health Service of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
