Michael Housholder

Michael R. Housholder, age 60, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at his home on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on August 10, 1950, the son of Betty Lou (Ames) Housholder and the late Robert Louis Housholder. Michael graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1968, and then furthered his education at the Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He served in the United States Army from 1972 - 1975. Michael retired from Hopewell School in 2010, and then took part time employment at Woodbury Outfitters. He was a member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge 376. Michael is survived by his son, Adam Michael Housholder of West Lafayette, Ohio; one brother, Scot Housholder of Coshocton; one sister Michele Kay (Daniel) Housholder-Funk of Conesville, Ohio; two nephews, Tanner Jae Funk, and Jonathan Charles Housholder. In addition to his father, Michael is preceded in death by his former wife Joanie Ellen Old. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio with Reverend Philip Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio where the Coshocton County Veterans will perform military honors. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 5-8:00PM and one hour prior to the time of service on Thursday at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton.
