

Sharon Susanne Layton, age 73, of Coshocton passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was born on October 4, 1942 to the late Drexel Harry Scott Sr. and Pauline Melissa (Simmons) Scott. Sharon graduated from Coshocton High School in 1960 and on December 25, 1964 she married Ronald Layton who survives. Sharon was a member of Park United Methodist Church. When she was younger she enjoyed bowling, camping, going boating, taking bike rides, and she taught swimming lessons at the American Red Cross. She also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing board games and playing hausey. Sharon had a paper route in Coshocton for 12 years and raised Dachshunds for many years as well.
Along with her husband Ronald, she is survived by her children, Sue Ann Layton, Scott Allen (Sarah) Layton, and Shelly Annette Farley all of Coshocton; six grandchildren, David Allen Buker III, Christopher Forest Buker, Elizabeth Ann Layton, Lora Kay Layton, Nala Marie Layton, and Rebecca Allen Layton; one brother, Drexel Harry (Cathy) Scott Jr., and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Kay Dilly.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Denny Rinehart and Pastor Eric Dingler officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
