It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Corinna on November 19, 2025 at home with her sister and husband by her side. She was born in Edmonton, Alta on October 13, 1963. Corinna passed away from a side effect of her battle with cancer.
The baby of the family Corinna was much loved and had everyone wrapped around her finger. When she was three we moved to Hudson’s Hope for Dads job and Corinna began her life long love of dogs. The neighbor had a grumpy old black lab who didn’t want anyone near him, but Corinna could sit on the step with her arms around that dog and talk non stop, he was her Buddy. After Dad’s job ended we toured BC and Vancouver Island before Mom and Dad decided to move to Vernon. However as we were driving into Kamloops Mom and Dad liked what they saw and stayed. Corinna started school at OLPH and then our parents decided to try country living and we moved to Pritchard and Corinna attended school in Chase, BC. A few years later we were back in Kamloops. In 1982 Corinna married Barry and settled into married life. In 1994 Corinna started work at the Montreux Counselling Centre in Victoria, she loved being part of such a positive environment, helping people make changes in their lives. Corinna also discovered she was an ocean girl, she loved walking by the ocean in any weather. A fun day for Corinna was walking the beaches or hiking Mt. Doug with her girl, Daisy, a labrador retriever. When Corinna and Barry moved to Campbell River she adopted another girl, Rosie, an english lab. Corinna and her girls loved exploring the trails in Beaver Lodge Lands. Corinna loved to travel and was able to make a couple of trips to her favorite city, Paris. She also enjoyed visiting friends in Rome so much she extended her stay for months.
Corinna’s compassion, empathy and genuine kindness made her easy to approach and to talk to. She had a great sense of humor and would always look at life in a positive light. Her beautiful smile could light up a room. She will be missed more than words can say.
Corinna was predeceased by her brother, Lowell, Mom, Lorraine, Dad, Lowell, brother-in-law Brad, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Corinna will be deeply missed by her husband of 42 years Barry, her sister Mona, her extended family Ken and Denise Marshall, Cheryl Dobrovnay, Jason and Michelle Marshall, father-in-law, Vern, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces and nephew and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Courtenay Cancer Centre. The nurses and staff there are amazing and always did their best to help Corinna through her difficult treatments.
