

Edna MacInnis, 86, of Courtenay B.C., passed away February 9th 2014. Edna was born to the late Felix Hatcher and Grace Anderson on January 29, 1928, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Edna married the late Ed MacInnis and they lived in Montreal for many years raising their son. In 1990 they relocated to Terrace, B.C. to watch their grand children grow up and enjoyed living in a small house rather than an apartment. Edna was at last able to pursue the love of gardening she had from her youth. She developed a beautiful flower garden on her street which attracted lots of birds & compliments from passers by. Edna relocated to Courtenay, B.C. on Vancouver Island with her son in 2008. Edna is survived by her two brothers: Sid Hatcher and Cyril Hatcher and her three sisters: Queenie Stubbert, Dorothy Pinkston and Diane Baker. She is also survived by her son: Bryan McInnes and her three grand children: Mike McInnes, Kelly McInnes and Cheryl McInnes. Edna is also survived by her pet cockatiel: Misty, whom was her closest companion for many years. Edna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener, animal lover and story teller. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
