Bonnie is predeceased by her husband Arthur (Red) Leighton and her son George.
Bonnie was loved and will be missed by her children, Harold (Kathleen), Dan (Bev), Bill (Norma), Shelly (Wayne), Sherry (Dave), Verna (Trevor); 15 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grandchild.
Bonnie was born June 22, 1931 in Vancouver, B.C. Coincidentally Red was born in the same hospital only the week before. She had an interesting and adventurous life, spending winters in Mexico, travelling through the US, and driving across Canada. Bonnie was very creative and left many crocheted blankets all over the Comox Valley and Mexico. Bonnie loved birds and dogs, including her bed ornament "Barney". She belonged to the Women of Native Ancestry and organized and helped build many parade floats with them. She loved to entertain, planning, decorating, and having fun.
