Mark passed away suddenly in Courtenay on May 21st, after a prolonged illness. Survived by his wife, Kimberley of 19 years, brother Kim (Lynn), nephew Perry Allan and niece Erin Hughes. Predeceased by his nephew, Ross Allan. He loved Kimberley’s family in Ontario, his best friend Brian O’Hara and wife Rowena.
He worked for many years for the Comox Valley Record as Editor and will be sorely missed. He previously worked as Sports Editor of the Prince George Citizen and Editor of Port Hardy newspapers. He was deeply involved with the music festival in the Comox Valley and volunteered time on the stage introducing the
performers. He had a great love of many genres of music and he will also be well remembered for his love of sports and running the hockey and baseball pools.
Donations in Mark’s memory can be made to Dementia or Cancer Societies. Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
