It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Louise Farquhar (nee Jackson), a beloved and devoted member of her community, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on March 16, 1944, Phyllis was a kind-hearted and generous individual who touched the lives of many through her volunteerism in the Comox Valley.
Residing in Courtenay, British Columbia, Phyllis leaves behind her cherished husband Mervyn. She is also survived by her daughters Shelly (Rod) Simms and Robin (Don) Miller, as well as her six granddaughters: Jennifer (Jesse), Natasha, Michelle, Rachelle (Jeremie), Samantha (Travis), and Toni. Phyllis was a proud great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Robert Jackson (Shirley), her sister Shirley (late Roy Middlemiss), and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her sisters Doreen (Charlie Douglas) and Joyce (Earl Blair).
Phyllis's generous spirit and kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Hinchinbrooke, PQ in the late spring of 2026.
