Born and raised in Victoria, Ray's work brought him to Denman Island, where he met Vivian. They were married in 1953 residing on Denman and then Buckley Bay until present.
Ray worked in the logging industry and then worked at A.W. Leakey Logging for 27 years. In
1975, Ray started 'Rays Bulldozing' where he worked clearing property, building roads and
developing his 40 acre parcel on Denman called "Shur Kan Doo."
Ray is predeceased by his mother Tekla, father Ernst, brothers Ron ,Roy and Rolf. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Vivian, Children; Lynda(Brad), Murray, Val(Colin), grandchildren Heather, Kimberley, Patrick and Sarah and great-grandchildren Weylin and Julian.
Ray was a true gentleman, with a kind and loving heart, a good sense of humor and always liked a good laugh! He loved turning wooden bowls on his lathe, fishing, car racing, sports, country music
and playing the lottery. Family time was very special to him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Reggler for going above and beyond with his expertise, compassion and understanding and to all the wonderful caregivers and nurses along the way.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Children's Hospital.
A gathering to Celebrate Ray will be held at a later date.
We miss you deeply Dad
Until we meet again
