He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Irene; children Catherine, Jaqueline, Christine and Robert, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Bob served in the Canadian Armed Forces. His last posting brought him to CFB Comox in 1975. Bob settled his family in the Comox Valley where he transitioned from military to civilian life and subsequently worked at Elk Falls Pulp and Paper Mill in Campbell River until his eventual retirement in 1998.
Bob was an avid golfer who enjoyed social and competitive events including representing Vancouver Island North in the 55+ BC Games.
Throughout his life, one of Bob's favourite pastimes was RVing with family and friends, especially sitting around the campfire.
His playful teasing couldn't be repressed, even as his health continued to deteriorate. Ever a dog lover, a cuddle with his favorite dog Coco on his lap was guaranteed to make him smile and bring a gleam to his blue eyes.
His family would like to gratefully thank the 4th floor care team at the Comox Valley Regional Hospital for their compassionate care in his few last days.
