Loving and devoted husband to Wendy, outstanding father and best buddy to Jay. Fun loving awesome brother to Debbie, Cherished uncle to Phil Ball (Lindsay), Matthew Ball (Kelsey), Melissa Ball and their families. Steve had a sparkle about him and was well liked and loved by friends, co-workers and people he just met. Steve was predeceased by his Mom & Dad, Irene and John, and his sister Suzanne Ball.
Steve was born in Comox and was a true island boy, Growing up in Courtenay with his two sisters Suzanne & Debbie, Steve experienced a loving, fun family home which he exemplified with his own family.
Steve had a big heart, brilliant smile and could make us belly laugh with his wit and wild sense of humor.
Steve started out working at a pedal pusher fixing bikes, then moved on to working in automotive, where he excelled in learning how to fix cars, one of the many skills he passed on to his son Jay. He also worked at BCF shake mill as a shingle sawyer.
Steve was so talented in many things that made our life together as a family full of joy. Steve loved home time, island drives, family bbqs, playing board games and card games. Especially 'pass the ace' trying to trick us with his 'king in the wing' after family dinners. He loved making us happy creating dazzling Christmas light displays and transforming our yard into a tranquil paradise with bright lights, glass fire pit, and beautiful garden water features. His latest project before he passed, was his new ride, his blue scooter that he and Jay were upgrading with the LED lights he loved.
He loved the comfort of the family's & neighbours kitty's, especially Ducky, Goose & Sayla.
Steve stopped working June 27th this year after 20 plus years driving mixer in the Comox Valley. We will remember the good times, the many concrete stories he shared and the pride and joy he took delivering mix to his customers. Thank you to all who say Steve for the great guy he was. Steve had not been well for a while and passed away in the loving arms of his wife Wendy, with his son Jay, and sister Debbie by his side. We will keep embracing him with love and remembrance for all the joy and laughter he brought to our lives. A great man with outstanding work ethic and personality.
Steve, Dad... Rest In Peace
Until we meet again.
