Vince was born in Gimli, Manitoba, on December 23, 1956. The family moved to Comox, BC, in his early childhood where they spent time living at the air force base prior to building the beach house Vince called home again for the last 20 years in 1965.
In 1978, Vince married the love of his life, Henny, beginning a journey together that spanned nearly five decades. Their adventurous spirit was clear from the start, as they spent four months honeymooning in Africa — an experience that sparked a lifetime of exploration and shared memories.
Vince worked as a professional photographer for 39 years, capturing countless moments and memories for others. His career took him to many places, but it was his over 20 years in Grande Prairie, Alberta, that became the foundation for raising their children — Crystal, Vince Jr., Dan, and Darren. His photographs were more than just pictures; they were stories, and he poured his talent, patience, and heart into every shot.
After retiring from photography, Vince embraced life with the same energy and curiosity he had always shown. He loved staying busy — building rock walls, landscaping, boating and fishing, or tinkering in his shop working on wood projects. Above all, Vince treasured time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories through simple moments, endless jokes, and family traditions that will be cherished for generations.
Vince had an amazing positive outlook that inspired all who knew him. His faith in God was central to his life and gave him strength, especially during his illness. He was known for putting others first, offering help before it was asked for, and making everyone feel valued.
The family deeply appreciates the care and support from all the doctors and nurses involved in Vince’s recent medical care, as well as the compassionate guidance provided by the Comox Valley Hospice team.
Vince is survived by his beloved wife, Henny (Nyman); son Al Wilkin; daughter Crystal Langill (Rolland); sons Vince Jr. Goff, Dan Goff (Jodi), and Darren Goff (JJ); grandchildren Cameron, Carson, Jaydon, Henry, Archie, Poppy, Marcus, Claire, and Leo; sister Karen (Ken), brother Dennis (Nicki), sister Brenda (Don); mother in law Minnie Nyman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was Predeceased by his mother Marguerite, father Barney and father-in-law Fred Nyman.
