peacefully on December 9,2021 at age of 81. Bill was born in 1940 in Comox, B.C.
to Earnest and Cynthia Slater, the second of nine children. Predeceased by Gwen,
his older sister. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Joyce, his children
Christine (Brian), Kevin, Shelly (Brent), Dyonne (Anousack), and stepson Karl Raabe,
11 grandchildren and sisters Heather, Gayle, Maylene, Cathy, Jill, Shawnette and brother
Gene.
Bill, a farmer at heart, loved to tend the hobby farm (Celiam Acres) he shared with
Joyce. He was always at his happiest feeding the many animals they raised , and
hoeing their many gardens to produce vegetables for the Farmers' Market. A hard
working Cement eman, Bill had many connections in the Valley and poured many
a slab in his time. He was known for his bark "on the job", it had to be done
right, but at the end of the day he was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest man to all
who knew him. His smile could light up a room and did.
Bill adored his wife and his many family members. Family was the most important
thing in life to him. His passing leaves an ache in our hearts, his soul is at peace
now.
