Betty Irene Lyon

LYON, Betty Irene (née Ostle) Peacefully at Hope Street Terrace Nursing Home in Port Hope with her family by her side on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at 88 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Donald Lyon (2010). Loving mother of Kandie Hopmans (Peter) of Colborne and Dale Lyon (DeeAnna) of Port Hope. Dearly remembered by her grandchildren Reid Hopmans (Shannon), Shawna Hopmans, Colin Lyon (Elsa), Vanessa Lyon and by her great-grandchildren Austin Hopmans, Dallas Vaillancourt and Catherine Lalonde. Predeceased by her parents Elmer Ostle and Myrtle and Nelson Hamlyn and siblings Vera Wilson (Ray), Lorraine Ostle and Elmer (Bud) Ostle (Joan). Betty will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Hope Street Terrace Nursing Home for their excellent care of Betty during the last five months. Visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Saturday, October 20th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the Community Care Durham would be appreciated.
