Aunty Elizabeth - a woman of God and a family friend. Very hospitable, generous and loving. You opened your home in Canada for me with smile, and gave me the full right to eat anything from your fridge anytime. Knowing you was a blessing and I and my family will miss you. Rest in perfect peace.
May God comfort, strengthen, and keep the family that you leave behind in Jesus name. Amen.

Dear grandmother, I call you that because you have been a mother , a grandmother, and great grandmother to many. Although our time together was short, I would like to take the time to say thank you. For the short while I knew you. You showed immense strength all through and I will forever emulate that. Thank you. As you go with God, I know you will watch over us and guide your children as you’ve always done.

My family got to know Akpan family through our very kindhearted man of God, Pastor Elijah.
He treated us as his biological siblings when we arrived in Canada.
Mama, there is no doubt that you were a virtuous mother who had taken her time to lead her children in the way of the Lord.
May you continue to rest in the bosom of the almighty God.
May the good Lord grant the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss. Amen.

Dear mother -inlaw,
Its a pity that you did not have any knowledge of your daughter-inlaw Joy, John's wife.
Ma'am, I have heard a lot about you and how someone named her child after you as a result of your kindness and pleasant disposition. I have prayed earnestly for us to see and communicate one on one but since this is the will of God, I won't question Him.
I hope to see you one day. By His grace I will try and work my way with my family so that we will all make it to heaven where we will see to live a more better life, free of death stings and sorrow.
My family and I will miss you dearly.
I wish you a peaceful rest in the bosom of you heavenly father.
Farewell ma'am.

It saddens my heart to say goodbye to you. I also know that you are with our maker.
May the family find peace knowing that God needs you most. You had a beautiful heart that can be seen in your children.
To our beloved family, the Akpan family, it is through mama's grace that we have come to know you all. For that, we are grateful.
This is our funeral. Let us all thank God for her life here on earth. May we find strength to move on and remember her good nature.
Condolences again from Solomon, Admire, kumba, Finda, Julie, and Christiana Musa.

Mom, your daughter Token stands and blesses you my Mother, my treasure, this blessed day of the Lord. Indeed, I bless His Name for sharing you with me. Truly, there are many virtuous and capable women in the world but you, my Mother, my Sweet, Sweet Mom you have surpassed them all. You are a gem, rare, beautiful, and a true treasure. You taught me so much that I am lacking in nothing. From you, I learned to trust in the Almighty. From you, I learned to love, laugh, dance, and sing. You also taught me how to face and prevail over adversities. I watched as you gently guided us through tough and rough times. You never raised your voice, nor become emotional; always steadfastly trusting in your maker, you remained immovable like Mount Zion. You taught me to strive for excellence. When I remember how you used to mark my letters with your red pen, it makes me laugh. But it did catapult me to the top of my class. Ye Mom! I want to tell the whole world so much about you but for the pandemic. My prayer to God Almighty is that your light in me will never dim as I continue to navigate this present world. And if God will give me the choice, I will always choose you a million times over as my Mother. You are a true mother in Israel and I will love you forever. I miss you so very very much, Mommy!
Your Beloved Daughter,
Token (Adiaha Nene).

The greatest memories of my mama is her laugh, when she laughs she lights up the entire room. She had that laugh that comes from deep down inside, I called it the soul laugh. Whenever I want to get that laugh I would say to her "Mama" tell me about Banga soup and she would start laughing so hard then proceed to tell me what it contains and how to make it. Another memory is of her explaining what is the green belt, we were driving from London Ontario to Toronto and I saw a sign that says "Greenbelt" and I asked what it means and mama explained it in literally two minutes and I was like WOW, thank you Mama. I would remember her sitting in her little red chair I called the "Queen's Chair" watching TV and falling asleep and if I'm not around she would wait until I get home to ask me for a drink of water because I was her GIRL and she was my MAMA. I would dress her to go out and she would say, "I'm a sexy Mama" and start laughing. I took her on the bus to the mall and let her picked out some fancy jewellery that she liked then we would eat and hang out, then take a taxi back home. Yep we did that and had a good time. I love you ma and I will miss you and your laughter. God's speed spread your wings and fly in peace.
