Faustina (Tina) Louise Budden passed away in her home on Friday, March 21st. In the arms of her daughter, holding her brother’s hand, and surrounded by family Tina took her last breath and found peace after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland Tina dedicated her life to health care first as a nurse and then in pharmaceutical sales, medical underwriting, nursing home management and finally Covid-19 clinic operations. In her spare time Tina cherished her time with her family and whether that was enjoying the Blue Jays, watching golf, taking in live theatre, travelling or simply enjoying a home cooked meal together, she brought a positive and uplifting energy to everything.
Tina is survived by her daughter Shauna (Allison), “precious” grandchildren Beckham and Riley, brother Warren, nieces Kristina (Dave), Karen (Brad), Keri (Tom); great-nephews Lukas, Brady, and Liam; and great-nieces Paige and Maya.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Courtice Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 29th, for the visitation 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, March 30th at 1:30 PM at Courtice Funeral Chapel, 1587 Highway 2, Courtice (905-432-8484).
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Tina’s memory to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Hanson Lo, Dr. Carrie Yeung, Dr. Wayne Koll, Dr. Saif Syed and Dr. Aubrey Kassirer for their compassion and excellent care.
In her final days Tina was grateful for all the time she was able to spend with her family leaving nothing unsaid, and for all the support from friends and loved ones. She was so very strong and determined in what she wanted. She really did it her way.
