My deepest condolences to Richard and your family. As an old school mate of Kim's after she arrived at Vincent Massey School when she moved to Bowmanville I was struck by her infectious smile and warmth when we first met. When I learned of Kim's passing I shared with my husband how well liked she was and how lasting her influence is. I fondly remember, in grade 5, how we were at a mutual friend's house for dinner and she was the first to help clear the dishes and collect the crumbs off the table. Our hostess was so impressed and complimented Kim on her great manners. Kim modestly replied that it was just what one does at home . I learned from Kim her genuine affectionate nature. She was a great lady and will be forever missed.

Martina and I are in shock over Kim's passing. Our condolences go out to you Richard and especially Matthew and Emily. I'm not sure that even time can heal the wound of losing someone so special. Our family always enjoyed Kim's presence, whether it was at a birthday party or just running into each other. She was an angel long before heaven took her away. She had a big heart as everyone knows and nothing illustrates that more then this little anecdote. Martina was driving our daughter Amanda up to Peterborough to attend her boyfriend's graduation. Well they didn't get far before they got a flat tire. Along comes a Knightress (poetic license) in shining armour named Kim Suchan and she drives the pair of them all the way to Peterborough so they wouldn't miss the big event. The number of people who would do such a thing are in the 1 percentile. We've long respected Kim for her big heart, generosity, sweetness, selfless nature and strong moral character. The world is truly a lesser place without Kim. We are saddened by her lose and send hugs from our family to yours.

Dear Richard, Matthew, Emily & Ericka, & family,
As next door neighbours on the lake, we always looked forward to your visits at the cottage. We do remember vividly our visits. We still have the pictures Emily made for us, when Kim & Emily brought them over. Matthew had an encouraging talk with us and family one summer about his future education. Our hearts and prayers go out to you at this time of sorrow.
God bless, Rev. Dr. Charles and Dorothy Jackson

Dearest Kim (our new neighbour when we moved to Courtice 3 years ago), You were the fabulous Mom, wife and daughter-in-law next door. Always so friendly and kind. So very quickly you became our inspiration to be a better person. You just need to visit our son's bedroom to feel your kindness and welcoming ways. Your death has saddened and shocked us to the core!! You were the comfort that made us love our new home so much! You will be in our memories forever! Dawn, Chris, Brent and Warren.

You’ve brought 2 amazing kids into this world and I hope they know I will be there for anything they need !

Kim, you were the most selfless, pure and beautiful soul I have ever had the honour of knowing. You treated my children as if they were your own and you were more than just my sister-in-law, you were an absolute angel and a devoted friend. Whenever anyone needed anything, you were the first in line and without people ever asking, you sensed when help was needed and stepped up. The world will never be the same without you in it.
It will be my honour to help guide and nurture Matt and Emily and I will be there for them for the rest of my life. I will afford them the same love and devotion you gave me and your entire family. I will remind them every single day what a beautiful, loving and inspirational mom they were blessed with.
Rest peacefully, dear, sweet Kim. I will love you forever and I am grateful and beyond humbled that I got to share your life and I promise you I will never forget you and thank you for all the love you gave us.

Kimberly Jane Suchan was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Kimberly will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Kimberly was born on June 9, 1970 at Oshawa General Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario. She was the daughter of Beryl and James Megraw. Kimberly grew up in Oshawa and Bowmanville.

Kimberly was raised with 5 siblings. She had 3 brothers Barrie, Robin and Michael and 2 sisters Heather and Andrea. Kimberly was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

As a young girl, Kimberly had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Kimberly was an active child who took part in soccer, baseball and swimming. In her spare time she liked fishing and camping. Kimberly's memorable achievements included being on the Honour Roll each year of high school and she graduated from Trent University. However, to Kimberly, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.

A typical teenager, Kimberly had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Bowmanville High School in 1989. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Kim lost her parents at a young age but she continued to strive and excel throughout school.

Kimberly enjoyed her college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Kimberly was able to manage the balancing act. Her favorite professor was Dr. Bruce Ahlstrand. She enjoyed playing varsity soccer for Trent University.

Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Kimberly enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Tammy McMullen and Ellen Taylor.

On October 4, 1997 Kimberly exchanged wedding vows with Richard Paul Suchan at Hillsdale Weslyn Church of Oshawa, Ontario. Empathic and loyal, Kimberly was committed to making her new family happy.

Kimberly worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Kimberly was blessed with two children, one son Matthew and one daughter Emily.

Fortunately, Kimberly enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Kimberly worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was Human Resource Manager. She was employed by Global Human Resource Centre from 1994 until 2004 and from 2005 until present she was employed by Suchan McQuaid Wealth Management Inc. Kimberly always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

Kimberly enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were spending time with her children, spending time at the cottage, fishing and boating, scrap booking with her friends and travelling. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.

Kimberly found pleasure in sports. In high school, Kimberly played soccer and participated in swimming. In her college years, Kimberly continued to stay active by playing Varsity soccer. Kimberly was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so.

Kimberly was a woman who took pride in upholding her beliefs. So it is little wonder that she took an active role in her community, serving on committees for the Scouts Canada.

Kimberly enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included cruises to the Caribbean and Disney World with the children.

Kimberly was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Over the years her pets included Carrie, a Boxer, Misty, a Russian Blue Cat and Benji a Yorkshire Terrier. They were best friends with Carrie for 9 years, Misty for 14 years, and Benji for 11 years.

Kimberly passed away on August 2, 2018 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, Ontario. She is survived by her husband Richard, her son Matthew, her daughter Emily, her sister Andrea Koroscik (Frank predeceased), her brothers Barrie Megraw (Carol), Robin Megraw (Helen) and Michael Megraw (Terri), her mother in law Erika Suchan, her sister in law Laura Suchan (William Eby), Darlene McCann and treasured aunt of Mandy, Julia (prdeceased), Katie (Brian), Christian, Roberta, Andrew, Ryan, Morgan, Dylon and Tyler. She is predeceased by her parents Beryl and James Megraw and her sister Heather. Services were held at Courtice Funeral Chapel. Kimberly was laid to rest in Bowmanville Cemetery.

Simply stated, Kimberly was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Kimberly leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Kimberly Jane Suchan.
