Kimberly Jane Suchan was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Kimberly will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Kimberly was born on June 9, 1970 at Oshawa General Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario. She was the daughter of Beryl and James Megraw. Kimberly grew up in Oshawa and Bowmanville.
Kimberly was raised with 5 siblings. She had 3 brothers Barrie, Robin and Michael and 2 sisters Heather and Andrea. Kimberly was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Kimberly had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Kimberly was an active child who took part in soccer, baseball and swimming. In her spare time she liked fishing and camping. Kimberly's memorable achievements included being on the Honour Roll each year of high school and she graduated from Trent University. However, to Kimberly, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
A typical teenager, Kimberly had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Bowmanville High School in 1989. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Kim lost her parents at a young age but she continued to strive and excel throughout school.
Kimberly enjoyed her college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Kimberly was able to manage the balancing act. Her favorite professor was Dr. Bruce Ahlstrand. She enjoyed playing varsity soccer for Trent University.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Kimberly enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Tammy McMullen and Ellen Taylor.
On October 4, 1997 Kimberly exchanged wedding vows with Richard Paul Suchan at Hillsdale Weslyn Church of Oshawa, Ontario. Empathic and loyal, Kimberly was committed to making her new family happy.
Kimberly worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Kimberly was blessed with two children, one son Matthew and one daughter Emily.
Fortunately, Kimberly enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Kimberly worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was Human Resource Manager. She was employed by Global Human Resource Centre from 1994 until 2004 and from 2005 until present she was employed by Suchan McQuaid Wealth Management Inc. Kimberly always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Kimberly enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were spending time with her children, spending time at the cottage, fishing and boating, scrap booking with her friends and travelling. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Kimberly found pleasure in sports. In high school, Kimberly played soccer and participated in swimming. In her college years, Kimberly continued to stay active by playing Varsity soccer. Kimberly was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so.
Kimberly was a woman who took pride in upholding her beliefs. So it is little wonder that she took an active role in her community, serving on committees for the Scouts Canada.
Kimberly enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included cruises to the Caribbean and Disney World with the children.
Kimberly was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Over the years her pets included Carrie, a Boxer, Misty, a Russian Blue Cat and Benji a Yorkshire Terrier. They were best friends with Carrie for 9 years, Misty for 14 years, and Benji for 11 years.
