Son of the late Patricia Conahan, Tom was the loving brother of Rick Conahan, cherished brother-in-law of Lise Conahan, and was predeceased by his sister, Lynda Boyle, and brother-in-law, Tony Boyle.
He was a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Alisha Cookson and Brandi Stockman, and a proud father-in-law to Thomas Cookson and Brent Stockman. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his cherished granddaughters, Lyla and Lilly Cookson, and Sophie and Kenzie Stockman, who filled his life with endless pride, laughter, and love.
Tom grew up on the West Beach in Bowmanville and often spoke fondly of the wonderful memories he made there with his brother and sister. He dedicated more than 30 years of service to General Motors, where he was a respected employee and dedicated Health and Safety Union Representative, a position that he took great pride in doing.
Tom loved playing hockey. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast. He was passionate about hockey, baseball, and college football. He rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams or debate the latest scores and statistics. He also enjoyed fishing, horse racing, and preparing a delicious Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for his family. The simplest of things were the most important to him. He governed his life with simplicity.
Above all, Tom will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Cheers to "The Gramps." Forever loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, no formal funeral or public service will be held. His immediate family will gather privately to celebrate his life, share memories, and say their goodbyes.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Lung Association in Tom’s honour are appreciated.
