Connie Wroten Richard passed away January 20, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on September 2, 1945, in Port Arthur, TX, to Clarence and Hattie Mae Wroten. Connie truly knew that it was more of a blessing to give than to receive.
Connie grew up in Port Arthur, TX before relocating with her family to Alexandria, LA, where she graduated from Bolton High School. In December 1963, she married Dennis Richard after a short 3-month courtship, and together they shared 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2020.
Connie was a devoted wife and mother, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, doting on her husband and daughter. She was able to throw together a huge home cooked meal with a call from her detective husband never knowing whom (or how many) he would be bringing home with him to eat. She never once complained; she had a true servant’s heart. She later worked at Petron in Alexandria until her retirement. She loved her job at Petron keeping all of “her boys” in line. She considered them part of her family and they still called to check in on her.
Connie loved the Lord and in the past few years enjoyed a true relationship with her Savior. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for everyone continually.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Denise Feraci (Gerard); grandchildren, Elizabeth Stagno (Kyle) and Joseph Singletary (McKinsey); great-grandchildren, Eleanor Stagno, Oliver Stagno, and Matheo Singletary; and siblings, Norma Jean Fusilier and Rodney Wroten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; parents, Clarence and Hattie Mae Wroten; and siblings, Rudy Wroten, Jimmy Wroten, and Virginia Wroten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by the memorial service at 12:30 PM, officiated by Pastor Donald Roché.
