Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Lynn Elizabeth (Edwards) Luna; his children Lenny Zimmermann, Scott Luna, and Lori Cluney (Joseph) and his grandchildren Cameron, Cohen, and Carson Cluney. He is also survived by his brother Mackie Luna (Monika) and sisters-in-law Sue Luna and Carol Luna, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Janice Lomont, Myra Stabinsky, Robert “Bobby” Luna, Kateri Rodriguez, and Louis “Louie” Luna.
Fred graduated from F.T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans and worked for over 50 years in Finance following his graduation. Fred was an avid Saints fan, poker player, consummate comedian and trickster, and lover of people. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the race track or on vacations along the Gulf Coast. Fred was extremely quick-witted and had the innate ability to give everyone he met, or did not meet, a fitting nickname. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 12:00 PM with visitation at the church beginning at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow the services in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
