

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bob Arnold, loving and devoted father, granddaddy, great grandfather, and friend to all whose lives he touched, on October 3, 2021. Robert William Arnold, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his family. He was 87. Bob was born on July 19, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He met the love of his life, Patsy Arnold, while they were in the seventh grade. They were together for 71 years. Their relationship was a truly magical and awe-inspiring union.
He was the loving father of Bobby Arnold (Sherry), Charles Arnold, Sr. (Michelle), and Leah Arnold Vita (Johnny). He was a proud “Granddaddy” to Ali, Charles, Austin, William, Jessi, Jake, Jordan, Amanda, and Joseph. He was a great grandfather to Drew, Jackson, Avery, Finley, Rex, Martin, and Naomi. He welcomed with open arms anyone that entered his home as if he was their father. He will be dearly missed and will live forever in our hearts. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, father William Henry, and mother Estelle. Bob graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Bob worked for Exxon Corporation for his entire career of over 35 years until he retired. Bob was a devout Christian and lived his life in service to others. He and his wife Patsy served as youth counselors at First United Methodist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Their home became a haven for many young people. Bob and Patsy sponsored children around the world and were a host family for foreign exchange students. He volunteered countless hours serving meals after Wednesday night fellowship and on religious holidays at First United Methodist and St. Timothy On the North Shore United Methodist Church in Mandeville, Louisiana. He was a member of the choir at St. Timothy On the North Shore United Methodist Church in Mandeville, Louisiana. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Heart of Hospice. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at St. Timothy On the North Shore United Methodist Church, Mandeville, Louisiana on Saturday, November 13 at 11:00am. Grace Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Northshore Humane Society.
