Connie Bea (Kendall) Kuenning was born on September 4, 1944 to Hursel “Pete” Kendall and Lillian Dobbins, in Rawlins, Wyoming. The family was residing in Baggs, Wyoming but decided to move to the Yampa Valley in the early 1950’s living in Hayden and later settling in Craig. Connie graduated from Moffat County High School in 1962. Following high school, Connie married Larry Moore in 1963. To this union came daughter Marti in 1964 and son Shane in 1966. Though the marriage later ended, Connie stayed in the Yampa Valley moving between Craig and Hayden. During her life, Connie had a variety of different jobs including time at the phone company, loaf n’ jug, and a lunch lady for the school district, but most importantly she was a homemaker. Connie eventually met and married the love of her life, Dennis Kuenning on July 28, 1986. The two embarked on a leisurely road trip across the west coast, which, by the end of the trip, the two found themselves in Reno, Nevada, where they decided to tie the knot. To this union, Connie became stepmother to Dennis’ three children - Jess, Wayne and Michelle, whom she loved dearly. Anyone who knew Connie understood her love for animals, gardening, camping, fishing and hunting. She will be forever remembered for being a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Connie is survived by her husband Dennis, of Craig; children Shane (Robin) Moore, of Craig, and Marti Zimmerman, of Hayden; Jess (Deanna) Kuenning, of Meridian, Idaho, Wayne Kuenning, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Michelle (Doug) Bullock, of Boise, Idaho; siblings Patsy Pike, of Fruita, Marie Raider, of Grand Junction, and Richard Kendall, of Craig; grandchildren Natosha (Cody), Krystal (RJ), Brandon (Nichole), Chelsea (Dan), Jacob and Mia as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Connie was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Lillian Kendall, sister Wanda Haggerty, and brother Joe Kendall.
