Donald La Verne Kopsa was born to Charlie and Hattie (Peterson) Kopsa in Cuba, Kansas on January 10, 1933. Donald graduated from Narka High School in 1950 and later joined the military where he was stationed in Japan. It was during his time in the military that Donald learned to operate heavy equipment. He enjoyed gambling, camping, fishing, bird watching, basketball and riding motorcycles. Donald died Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home. He is survived by his children Nikki (Gary) Kopsa, Kent (Anessa) Kopsa and Gregg (Stephanie) Kopsa; grandchildren Joel Pomeroy, Meredith Kopsa, Kenda Kopsa, Teigan Kopsa, Kyle Kopsa, and Conner (Jonathan) Kopsa; great- grandson Brody; brother Bob Kopsa; many niece and nephews as well as his beloved dog Punky . Donald was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Joy Kopsa, brother Clare Kopsa and Betty Everette. At Donald’s request, no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to The Moffat County Humane Society in care of Grant Mortuary.
