

Duane “Cris” Criswell, 83, of Craig, Colorado, passed away August 8, 2020, after a long fight with NASH disease. He was born May 5, 1937 to parents Harry and Mable (Pankey) Criswell in Rawlins, Wyoming. Duane graduated from Vernal, Utah in 1956. Duane is survived by Tana Cook his significant-other of 27 years, son Walker (Gayle) Criswell, Grandson Colt Criswell, Granddaughter Alexa (Ryan) Brookshire, Great Grandson Bryce Brookshire, Brother Dennis Criswell, Sisters Celesta (Deny) Mowery, Tani Criswell, and Jolene (Jim) Camden. Nephew H.D. (Jenny) Criswell, Niece Cheryl (Eddie) Relaford. There are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Son Wendell Criswell, Father Harry, Mother Mable. He was very passionate about his family and their history in Little Snake River as well as the history of the surrounding areas of Wyoming and Colorado. He spent time researching, adventuring and telling stories about his life and adventures with anyone who was interested. His hobbies were collecting Mack trucks and children’s pedal tractors and sharing them with others. In 1979 he started a boys boxing team in Hayden, Colorado called the Duke’s of Hayden, traveling to boxing matches with the team through Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. He enjoyed spending time helping the Savory Museum curator with family history in the area. He was a life-long Denver Broncos fan. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., August 17, 2020 at the Reader Cemetery in Savory, Wyoming. Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Savory Museum or The Museum of Northwest Colorado in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, Colorado 81625.
