

Erik Monger, 43, of Craig, Colorado, left this world too soon. He was born, lived, and loved in Craig, CO. Erik was the beloved son of Jerry Monger and Teresa Smith, and the cherished brother of Nicole Casazza. He was a proud uncle to Ryder and Carlee Casazza, and will be remembered fondly by his uncle Jim Monger, his aunts Mary Lou Skufca and family, many cousins: Toni and Paris Himmelman, Michael, Amanda, and Anakin Jacobs, Jessica Baldwin, Tammy Skufca, and Joe Stark . Step siblings, Sara and Jacey and Stepfather Brian Smith. His circle of family and friends was wide, and his impact on each of them was lasting. A true hippy at heart, Erik lived life genuinely and unapologetically as himself. He worked in sheet metal, heating and cooling, and was proud of his time as a coal miner. With his natural talent for working with his hands, Erik could fix almost anything. He was known for his humor, kind heart, and optimistic spirit. Erik loved music, playing pool, floating the river, and camping trips with friends. He found joy in cooking and sharing meals with those he loved. His easygoing nature and warm presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the gift of knowing him. Erik’s life touched many, and his memory will live on in the laughter, kindness, and love he shared.
