Fred William Brannan

Lifetime Maybell resident, Fred William Brannan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab. He was 72. A funeral service honoring Fred’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Grant Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Maybell Cemetery.

Fred William Brannan was born the son of Dale and Edna (Gerber) Brannan on June 8, 1953 in Craig, Colorado. Fred spent his childhood in Maybell and attended schools in Craig.

Fred enjoyed spending time with his friends at Horizon’s Specialized Services. He was very active and participated in all their activities, however, his favorite was their trip to go skiing. He smiled from ear to ear.

Fred was a lifelong rancher. He especially loved his horses, dogs and cats. He had a servants heart who enjoyed helping anyone who needed a helping hand. He also enjoyed hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. Fred will be forever remembered for his loving and caring heart.

Fred is survived by his brother, Patrick and Lisa Brannan of Maybell; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Edna Brannan; one brother, Wayne Brannan; and his sister, Louise Irvine.
